Got my little brother two of them from the twelve days of christmas sale at rightstuf...GTO and Irresponsible captain taylor.

We're watching GTO right now, and though the anime is about as old as Goldenboy, it's prolbably one of the better ones I've seen in a while, I was originally turned onto it by the spoof in megatokyo, glad GTO turned out so well.

What did you guys get, anything worth watching?

I didn't really get anything on my list o' anime cuz I sent it out incredibly last minute. >.>;;

But I did get a vulture cross from trinity blood, an Ed plushie (cowboy bebop), and an FLCL beanie to go with my FLCL shirt. ^.^ It's the beanie with the "P!" symbol on it from Haruko's vespa. It's pretty sick nasty. 8)

I'd like the entire Record of Lodoss War series on DVD and OSTs plox. Why do they have to be so hard to find? God damn.
That's one anime that is worth the money it takes to get a copy. canadian masterpiece.

I don't trust my family to pick out anime so I just have them buy me gift certificates to Roberts anime corner store.

I don't trust my family either to pick out anything decent so I just do the normal asian thing and ask for the universal gift of CASH. I can use it anywhere

I don't trust my family, either, but they seem to have the good sense not to try or even ask!

However, I'm a big one for giving anime as gifts to family I know will appreciate it (I even keep a list of the titles they own so as not to duplicate). Over the years, I've given:

Animation Runner Kuromi
Ghost in the Shell (1995 feature)
Fruits Basket
Azumanga Daioh
Elfen Lied
Escaflowne (TV)
Cromartie High School (with warning to the recipient NOT to watch it all at once, given its toxic stupidity level)

Hey there,

A new Christmas is arriving and I'm starting to think about the gifts I'll offer. My young sister is crazy for anime, and I was thinking about giving her something related to that. Here's the problem: I'm not really into the anime thing (the only series I know are Dragon Ball, Golden Boy and Captain Tsubasa, lol), so I'm not sure what shall I choose.

I checked her Facebook in order to see some anime series she likes:

- Death Note
- Chobits
- Azumanga Daioh
- K-on
- Fruits Basket
- Inuyasha
- Tsubasa Chronicle
- Love Hina

Taking in count this list, is there anything you recommend?

Thank you

I'd LIKE to recommend Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha just because im biased...

seriously though, Angelic Layer is awesome and in the same area as what you listed. Shakugan no Shana is good too...

Hi,

I don't know if she enjoys those series, but that's not exactly my point. I would like to hear from someone who knows the anime series I mentioned some gift suggestions to my sister. The truth is I really don't know anything about them, so if someone could (for example) suggest which characters are the most popular, I would certainly have a brighter clue of what to buy.

Thank you

I love Death Note - it is really good! Inuyasha is a very good one too. I like the humor of this Anime - the character portrayed so reminds me of a friend of mine and always makes me laugh a lot. I think that is what animes are supposed to do - transport a certain amount of emotional attachment. Laughing, crying, smiling, fainting - whatever it is as long as there are emotions.
