At long last,

I have been given the necessary tools to prepare and send out the payment forms to the artists who made it into this years artist alleys..... right in the middle of me preparing for Gen Con.

As we are all artists... I am sure you can understand how my priority right now is getting myself and my artwork ready for this MASSIVE show.

REST ASSURED. The forms are coming. Just as soon as I return from GenCon. I will be cutting and pasting and then POSTING. the forms to your individual emails.

I appreciate your patience.

Don Higgins

Well, according to their website, GenCon runs from 08/05-08/08, so we artists can expect something the week of 08/09.

I think it's safe to say that while real life events take precedent over volunteer positions like con work, few of us care why it isn't being sent out now, we just want to know when it WILL be sent out. Dates are more helpful than updates on your con schedule. :D

The thing is, for Don (the gentleman doing the artist alley coordination) his convention visits ARE his work. He's one of those real professional artist types :) So a show like Gencon is HUGE for him.

To be honest, I just prefer a heads-up on things being late rather than just complete silence. I ended up asking in the other thread because the confirmation e-mail for sign-ups said "next few weeks" almost two months ago, and there had been no news since. Even a "Hey, it's going to be a bit late and here's why," such as the first post in this thread, is a reassuring response.

Best of luck at GenCon, Don!

Ah, my apologies, I think my reply was misconstrued. I meant "real life (your work at GenCon) takes precedence over volunteer con work (being artist alley head at AAC)" I never doubted that the trip to GenCon was not a pleasure trip, nor that it was not important to him. Con staffing is a volunteer position.

Still, since I had to look up what the heck GenCon was, and when it was, his announcement that we'd get a reply after that convention wasn't too helpful to me. I know many professional artists who spend weeks in serious prep work for big cons, so 'prepping' to me could've been five days, or fifteen.

Time frames are helpful to all the rest of us who take our work at Artist Alleys seriously, after all! :D
