I actually jumped on here to start the thread to organize the shoot (then saw I'd been beaten by several months) because I had some concerns about how other shoots at other cons have been run and because I had such a good time at last year's shoot on Saturday I don't want to see that happen at AAC - we had some AWESOME pictures and some incredible cosplays and everypony seemed to enjoy themselves.
Can we all agree to please start the shoot on time (or if punctuality is not possible, late)? A very poor taste was left in my mouth at another shoot I was at because somepony shanghaied the shoot and decided to start ten minutes EARLY - I feel like if a shoot starts a little late to get a few stragglers that's okay, but starting a shoot that early is extremely unfair to anypony who may have other commitments, such as panels (attending or running), Artist Alley tables, autograph signings, competitions, or any other number of things going on at a convention. This made a couple of the people in my group and me a little angry because people who showed up a few minutes early or otherwise on time missed character calls. Although I don't feel the whole shoot was ruined and caused everyone to had a bad time, I still feel like that decision was in poor taste and definitely affected several cosplayers.
I'm not trying to start any unnecessary drama in regards to what transpired - what happened has already passed and there's nothing to be done about it anymore. However, I think this can be treated as a learning experience so everypony who puts in the effort to get to the shoot on time gets in all of the appropriate shots. There are some fabulous costumes out there that some ponies put a lot of effort into, so let's try to be fair to everypony who wants to get their picture taken.

Just as a side note, you can plan more then one photoshoot for a group. Since one time might not work for all, last years did not work out for me or the other cosplay/masq staff girls who wanted to go.
