Please read all of the following before applying for a masquerade skit.
Craftmanship Categories
- Novice: Costumes entered under this category are for cosplayers not yet sure of their skills. This category is for beginner cosplayers, or cosplayers that have not won numerous awards before.
- Advanced: For advanced cosplayers who have expertise skills or have won numerous awards.
- Non-competitive Entry: Non-competitive Entry: If you have a costume that was commissioned, or just want to showcase an outfit without entering the competitive categories.
If you have multiple cosplayers of various skills please list cosplayers and their category. Groups containing both novice and advanced will have their performance judged in the advance category. Costumes that are suspect to be bought, or commissioned will be disqualified by the judge's discretion.
Entry Types
- Skit: Skits con be no longer than 2:30 minutes, and no shorter than one minute.
- Walk-ons: Walk-ons may be no longer than 30 seconds.
- Non-craftsmanship Skit: If you would like to perform a skit but did not make your costume, or would not liked to be judged on it please enter in this category. Contestants will be judged on their skit alone.
- Non-competitive Skit: For persons who would just like to have a little fun. This category is open to everyone, staff, volunteers and guests. Please DO NOT fill out an entry form. Entries will be accepted by Masquerade staff approval only please email at masquerade@anotheranimecon.com.
Judging
All contestants will be judged prior to the masquerade. Judging times will be on Saturday only. Please come prepared to your judging, include your reference photo if you did not send one with your application, and any progress pictures you took during your costume construction. Judge's guidelines will be available at the masquerade head quarters any time it is open. They will also be available if you contact masquerade@anotheranimecon.com.
Reference Image: A reference image is required for each contestant's character and can be sent in as a link with registration in the extra space at the bottom of the entry form. You may also bring one with you at the time of your judging or may send a file to masquerade@anotheranimecon.com. Please remember, a reference image is of the character, not the costume.
